Robert Tjalondo — Event & Portrait Photographer

I’m Robert Tjalondo, a Dutch-Indonesian photographer based in Rotterdam and the founder of Rockin’ Pictures. The name reflects my roots in concert photography — a background that taught me to capture raw energy and decisive moments, even in fast-paced environments.

Since 2010, I’ve brought that same dynamic approach to corporate events, international conferences and executive portraits across the Netherlands and Europe. With a background from the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU), I bring a documentary eye to every assignment. Whether I’m covering a summit in Amsterdam or creating an editorial portrait, I focus on images that feel real, composed and meaningful.

I’m also the founder of Faces of Rotterdam, a long-term documentary portrait project exploring identity and belonging across the 170+ nationalities that shape the city. The project premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) in 2025 and has been featured by national media including RTL 4, NPO Radio 1 and Algemeen Dagblad.

Alongside event photography, I create natural, character-driven portraits for professionals and organisations who want photography with presence and authenticity.

Based in Rotterdam, available for commissions across the Netherlands and Europe.
